Over dosage of Postinor 2

I took both pills in one dosage, is this dangerous or less effective? Also, what are the usual side effects after taking the pills and how soon after? I took the pills about a 17 days ago and now I'm spotting ( not heavy but blood is present). Could this be a side effect?

If someone after an unprotected sex takes the first Postinor - 2 Tablet at about 2.30pm daytime and the second tablet at 2.30am (night), will it be effective considering the reduced rate of metabolism at night?

I had sex on sunday and i took postinors on the evening. And on monday i had sex again. Today is Wednesday can i took postinor 2 again?
From my normal menstrual cycle. My period should come on Monday. But I took postinors on Sunday. And my period still doesn't come.
I think my period is delayed by postinors effect. Am i correct?
And please kindly tell me whether i should take another pills because i have sex again on monday.
And I want to know what is the side-effect from taking postinors 2 twice a week.

Hello Anonymous,

Postinor 2 is estimated to be effective in preventing pregnancy 85% of the time. When taken within the first 24 hours, it is 95% effective. You took the pill after 48 hours, so you are well protected.

Anonymous, did your boyfriend penetrate your vagina?

I strongly suggest, that if you continue to be sexually active, consider using birth control regularly. An emergency contraceptive, like Postinor 2 -SD, is intended for emergency use. It should not be taken as a form of birth control.

There is only limited data available on Postinor-2 when taken by women aged 14-16 years.

Best regards,
Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

I can appreciate how frightened you must feel right now. Your body is responding to an overdose of the very strong synthetic hormone that is found in Postinor 2.

Do not take any more pills. This pill is intended to be used in emergency situations only, and not as a regular form of birth control.

Anonymous, it sounds like this happened in the last two weeks. Am I correct? If so, please call your physician, report what has happened and follow any recommendations.

Regards,
Maryann
