I took both pills in one dosage, is this dangerous or less effective? Also, what are the usual side effects after taking the pills and how soon after? I took the pills about a 17 days ago and now I'm spotting ( not heavy but blood is present). Could this be a side effect?

hello,need your help here,my girlfriend have her period on 31august and done it on 4th september,on 5th september we have a protected sex but I ejaculated inside but with condom and my girlfriend took ONLY A PILL of postinor 2 as a safety measure but NOT TWO tablets. On 9th september,we have a protected sex again but she didnt took the pill at all as I ejaculated in the condom and outside this time. But on 10th september,she having a vaginal bleeding until 12th september and the colour is light red at the beginning and dark red+brown at the last bleeding on 12th September. My questions are:
1)Is that a period or vaginal bleeding?
2)Did she pregnant?
3)When will her next period? Is all the things occured are normal?
Please reply me as soon as possible as I'm worried of her.

Hello Anonymous,
Your girlfriend is not pregnant because she had vaginal bleeding. This was breakthrough bleeding and was caused by taking Postinor 2. Her menstrual cycle may be out of whack because she took the emergency contraceptive.
This may cause her period for September to be a week or two late. If she doesn't get a period by the middle of October, she should take a home pregnancy test.

No. You have started your period. Therefore, you are not pregnant and there is no need to take Postinor 2.

Hello, i hope somebody can help me on this. I took postinor 2, 2 days in a row, and a week before my period due, i started to have this dark coloured blood that is less than menstrual blood. The colour became lighter day by day and also the amount became less than the first ones. It has been 14 days now that i've been having this. Is it the side effect? Because i took tests and they came out all negative. I'm worried if it's because i took too much. Should i wait until my next period?

Hello Anonymous,
Some women will experience breakthrough or withdrawal bleeding two to three days after taking Postinor 2. Generally, the bleeding stops spontaneously.
One Postinor 2 tablet should be ingested within 72 hour following unprotected intercourse. The second tablet should be taken 12 hours after taking the first tablet.
I am concerned that you have been having vaginal bleeding for 14 days.
Give your doctor's office a call and ask to speak with the office nurse or leave a message to have your doctor call you back. Explain what has happened.
