Be sure to listen to your body as you do your Achilles tendon stretches! Very often, people with tight Achilles tendons develop bone spurs in the tendons where they attach at the heel bone and overly aggressive stretches can cause tearing around the bone spurs.

While I'm more for loosening exercises pre-run, saving stretches for post-run, I think it's important that people know how to stretch properly.
