Daliana explains the occurrence that created a desire to lose weight.
I met Dr. Kogan about a year ago and she kind of mentioned about, that she had a weight loss program that she had going, and she did metabolic testing, which I didn’t know much about. So we did the metabolic test, and it basically explained how many calories you burn a day, even at rest, which I had no clue about. And I am a nurse, so it’s really amazing that she taught me something about that because I have never heard of that before.
And so she basically explained to me how weight, you know, builds up throughout the years and how it really, it does boil down to exercise and eating so many calories a day. What you put in, you really have to burn out, or if not, it’s just going to gradually, with time, just sit there, and you are going to gain some more weight.
So, I basically did the metabolic test with her, and then she gave me like a food diary. So I kind of realized that I was eating way over what I should be eating on a daily basis and not exercising enough and sleeping too much. And so, we basically broke it down to I should be eating so many calories a day, about 1100-1200, and I should be working out at least four days a week at 45-minute intervals, cardio, and that was pretty much it.
So I decided to try it out, that it wouldn’t hurt, and so I tried everything else. I tried appetite suppressants, over-the-counter stuff, even Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig, everything, and started out at 160 pounds when I started, and now I feel like I am half of that, like 120 pounds. So I am really excited.
