I had my period that finished last week and 2 days later I have sore breasts, back pain, heart burn, feeling tired and can smell things more .Can I still be pregnant and thought I had a period but it wasn't ? I have a 1 year old who when I carried him from finding out till I had him 7 months I bled every time I went to the loo they said my placenta was low . What do I do? Shall I take a test or wait a while? Or could it be something else?

Hello Anonymous,

Normally, I would say that you are not pregnant if you had a period, with heavy bleeding the first three days and it lasted for six days.

I am concerned why your nipples would be swollen. That is not a sign of early pregnancy. If this persists and you continue to have cramps and feel bloated, consider speaking with your gynecologist.

Hello well I had a weird period this month. My boyfriend and I had sex July 10th and then I had my period in the middle of the day July 11th. August I was suppose to have my period around the 10th give or take 2 days before. Well I was getting mild camping on my lower back, thighs, lower abdominal area through out the days and never showed up until I had entercourse with my boyfriend on the 16th and after I wiped myself off there was light rose color. The next day in the evening more light rose color of blood started showing up until the next morning it start brownish color then like a burgundy color with discharge. I had a full 7 day period even though I was late. But now it's the 24th of August and I've been still feeling nausea and cramping...???I've taken a number of pregnancy test and they all said negative. Any information would be very helpful...

I was on birth control for over 10 yrs but I stopped on May 25th, I went to the doctor because I did not bleed after I stopped the birth control and they told me I had a follicular cyst I then got a period on June 26 but it was a darker color and it lasted about 6 days, I got my last period on 07/30 at midnight and the flow was light for one day then it completely stopped for two days then it started back up after sex for the night then it stopped again. I am still experiencing very sore breasts and some cramping like if it had my period. Is all this due to having been on birth control for so long and that my body is missing the hormones?

So I had unprotected sex on July 11 and right the next day I was feeling nauseous and really worried so I took a Plan B pill but the nause continued the whole week. Then I got even more worried so I started looking for how to induce your period naturally and found out about vitamin c and supposedly masturbation. I started taking the vitamin on Monday and had a brown discharge and sometimes even light pink that was exactly like implantation bleeding but it would get stronger every time I masturbated. On Thursday my period started as normal, I was taking the vitamin still and it was really heavy flow, I had a lot of cramping the first day as a normal period cramps and it ended yesterday. I've taken to tests and both were negative. The problem is that I feel nauseous, sometimes I feel hot, I was peeing a lot so I took some medicine for UTI and now I don't pee as much, but I'm really worried I'm pregnant because of the constant nausea, it literally lasts all day but I've noticed that if I don't think about it it kinda goes away. My pee is always yellow no matter how much water I drink and it's cloudy. I've had heart burn but not sore breasts...

Hello Anonymous,

The vaginal bleeding, which could have been your monthly bleeding, the result of taking Plan B or both, proved that you are not pregnant.

Feeling nauseous could be a side effect of the pill. Drink plenty of water. If your urine continues to be cloudy, do not take any more medication until you speak with your physician. If it is not a UTI and you take an antibiotic, you run the risk of developing an antibiotic resistant infection.

Hi, I had my period at the exact time I was supposed to. In the beginning on July 23rd it was brown and then from the 24th through the 29th I had normal flow and the 30th it was brown again and then went away. On August the first I started having pain in my lower back and feeling tired and I still do to this day, and its really scaring me. My boyfriend and I almost did it but I told him to stop but be tried to put it in on the 4th of July. Could I be pregnant ?

Hello Anonymous,

You are not pregnant because you had a normal period from July 24 to July 29.

Regarding the back pain and fatigue, have you been doing anything different, such as increased exercising or heavy lifting? Are you getting enough sleep?

Maryann

I had my period from July 20th to July 24. Since last Thursday, July 28th, I have been nauseous, crampy, and have a foul odor clear discharge(different than usual). I'm on the pill but I missed 2 doses in the beginning of the pack which started July 24th. Me and my husband have had unprotected sex a couple times last week. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. Any ideas on what is going on? I have a history of UTI's but this doesn't feel like one at all.

Hello Anonymous,

I am most concerned about the foul odor. Because this is new, and you are feeling nauseous with cramping, consider contacting your gynecologist's office. It doesn't present like a UTI. I am leaning toward bacterial vaginosis.

One symptom is a foul smelling vaginal discharge. The discharge is usually thin and dull gray or white. In some cases, it may also be foamy. The fish-like odor that’s often associated with the discharge is a result of the chemicals that are produced by the bacteria that cause BV.

Maryann
