Over dosage of Postinor 2

I took both pills in one dosage, is this dangerous or less effective? Also, what are the usual side effects after taking the pills and how soon after? I took the pills about a 17 days ago and now I'm spotting ( not heavy but blood is present). Could this be a side effect?

urinating and pains by the side of my stomach.
The pains has stopped but some days ago, i started having vaginal
bleeding for three days. Could it be that there is possibility that
i am pregnant after having unprotected sex and took postinor 2?

Hi Debby95,

Vaginal bleeding after taking Postinor 2 means the pill worked to prevent pregnancy.

A urinary tract infection is one of the leading causes of painful urination. Sexually transmitted infections can also cause painful urination. Irritation of the urethra from sexual activity, or
interstitial cystitis, a condition caused by bladder inflammation, can cause pain with urination.

As long as the pain has stopped and you have no other symptoms, you need not worry.

Maryann

Hi Anonymous,

You should be worried. Taking the third dose of Postinor 2 was unnecessary and harmful. By doing so, you have seriously upset the normal hormonal balance that controls your menstrual cycle. You can expect to notice irregularities, such as a delay or change in menstrual flow, with your next period.

Hello Anonymous,

Frequent urination can be an early sign of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, early pregnancy or an over active bladder.

Did you take Postinor 2? If so, how long ago? Is your period late?

If you took Postinor 2 and have not had any vaginal bleeding within three weeks of taking it, test for pregnancy.

Maryann

So we had sex and I got her to take the pill the next day about 12 or 1pm. I wasn't with her but she was supposed to take it 12hrs later. What if she misses that 12 hr window and takes it after? Will the pill not work? What if she only takes one pill and forgets to take the other completely? Will she get pregnant? The drug in question is Prostinor 2.

Hello Anonymous,

A drug is most effective when taken as directed. Have you asked her if she took the second dose?

The only way to know if Postinor 2 was effective is if she has vaginal bleeding. If she doesn't have bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, she should take a pregnancy test.

Hello Anonymous,

So glad that you came to us for help. You must call your primary care physician right away. Stomach pain and pain with urination are not side effects of Postinor 2. Something else is going on.
