I’d say if you are in extreme pain and living every day like that to not be afraid because the other side is so much better. The surgery is a day; the recovery is minimal, and the lessening of pain is so fast and so extreme, and it is so worth it to face those fears, realize it’s just a surgery and that you are under this wonderful care and come out on the other side with your life back. It’s so worth it, and of course you are always going to have those fears. Surgery is a scary thing, but to live that life in pain is so much more scary.
