I did modify my lifestyle after I had my heart attack. No more visits to the fast food restaurant on the corner, you learn to cook the right things, you eat more fruit and vegetables, you eat less red meat, more fish, all the things you know you’re supposed to be doing all along, you learn to do those.
Make sure you take your medication the way the doctor tells you to. It’s an easy thing to do to is skip the medication. Walking more instead of jumping in the car to go two blocks, getting out and walking, parking your car further away from the grocery store and walking more, being more active, and sometimes it’s hard and sometimes it hurts. Your legs hurt, your chest hurts, you don’t want to do it, but you force yourself to do it because in the long run it really does make it easier for you to get on day-to-day.
