Dr. Barba:
So ladies, I’d like to offer you three tips for keeping your brain healthy. First would be to live a healthy lifestyle. If you smoke, stop smoking. If you have any other risk factors for cancer, find out about them and get those checked out first. Probably the next most important would be to stay intellectually active. So, make new friends, learn a new language, do things that really keep yourself stimulated, but being with people is a really good way to keep your brain healthy, and then I would think the third most important is exercise. People that exercise think more clearly, have less stress, and they can live a lot longer just based on the exercise. Besides the help it helps your brain, it helps your entire body.
To summarize, the three tips are, live a healthy lifestyle, make sure your medical issues are addressed upfront, talk to your family doctor to get checked out. Number two is, be socially active. Interact with your friends, learn a new language, do something good for your brain, and three, get exercise. It helps you in many different ways and keeps your brain active and helps you maintain a good thought pattern and keeps you healthy. Those are the tips to a healthy brain.
