Sarah:

One way MS has changed my life for the better is that it really forced me to slow down, cut a lot of noise out of my life, and when I did that, there was enough room for other things, other people. And there was room for me to meet my husband and fall in love with him, and when I decided that my career wasn’t the most important thing in my life, there was room for children, and we adopted a beautiful little baby girl four years ago, and then we had a biological baby a year after that.

And so our life is just full with family and our children, our family, friends, and things I really did not give enough time to, and I just feel blessed with all of that. And I don’t think I would have had that, had I not been diagnosed with MS.

Thank you Sarah for adding this perspective about living with MS. I too have "befriended" MS as the reminded to slow down, eat better, practice t'ai chi more and let go of the trivial aspects of life.

I've found many doctors/practitioners speak to us as victims. This is a title I refuse to embrace. Since you were the first person I spoke the words to about having MS, you set the tone for how I would view MS. Thank you.
