Alice:

My advice to women who have osteoporosis if their doctor has told them that they need to use some sort of mobility assistance: do it. I am, and I am talking out of both sides of my mouth here because I use my cane most of the time but sometimes I don’t because of my little denial issue or being vane, but if, especially if you are older and your balance is off more, it’s more important to protect yourself than to protect your appearance.

And you need to protect your bones first because to use the walker or the cane is a whole lot better than to have to use a wheelchair because that’s the only way you can move around.
