Alice:
Two, a urine test to see if there’s calcium in it because you could be losing calcium in your body through your urine.
And three, asking your doctor what he would suggest for prevention to help prolong the onset of osteoporosis for you specifically because of maybe whatever medications you take, physical limitations or dietary limitations, and with medications that you take.
And if you visit your doctor and he is not open to these things or is not familiar with them then depending on how comfortable with the doctor that you really are, I suggest even getting a second referral. I have talking to many people and their doctors are just adamant about, don’t worry about it, or they are in the dark. They don’t understand the importance of this.
So many doctors are still just learning about these things now even though osteoporosis has become public knowledge for 25 years. It is amazing how many doctors are not aware of the signs, the symptoms or the familiarity of it. So do what you have to do to take care of yourself because you know your body more than anybody else does and only you can take care of you. If you don’t fight for you, nobody will.
