Dr. Wright:

Lonely cancer patients, women especially, tend to be withholding of their suffering or their fears. It’s really important that they move into a sense of connectedness with someone or some group so that they are not alone. That need for wholesome relationship, be it with a family member, or with a cancer recovery group, or with neighbors and friends. Even the online chat rooms with cancer patients have proven to be very beneficial. If you’re hesitant to talk to your family about it, getting educated is incredibly important. Cancer used to be a lethal word.

It’s not anymore, and we need to know quality of life and being connected is in that quality of life.
