Dr. Dao shares how Chinese medicine can help relieve stress.
Stress frequently is how you react to the world. So it’s not just how the world burdens you.
So when we look at helping a patient manage stress we look in that in a sense of how much amount of, what kind and quality of stress that comes to the patient but we also look very carefully how a patient reacts to them, okay?
And frequently a lot of times we do create our own stress and we do react to certain things a little bit too much and certain things we don’t react at all. So there’s certain imbalances.
So when we look at stress management we look at that quality of how we react to things that come to us, and we provide and we teach our patients tools to become more aware how they react to things.
It’s very important, when you deal with stress management the very first thing that we have to look at is awareness because a lot of times people are not completely aware why they are reacting to certain things.
When you become more aware of it, that’s the first step. Once you become aware of it then you can come up with ways that you can become better in dealing and reacting to certain stresses in a certain manner. So I think the very first thing is just being aware.
