After Bariatric Surgery, Can A Woman Eat Anything? - Dr. Dahiya (VIDEO)

Dr. Dahiya explains if a patient can eat anything she craves after undergoing bariatric surgery.

Dr. Dahiya:
What we are looking for is the quantity issue and that it has to be in solid nature. A pouch is not going to hold, no matter how small a pouch I make, no matter how tight I make, it is not going to hold the liquids. Liquids are going to just slip through, and we are not making, doing a procedure where a body is not going to use the calories. Any calorie that I can take in; any calories that I can put in, they will all be utilized by the body. So if I can put 5000 calories, they will be used.

So basic rule is, I have to eat small and I have to eat something that’s going to stay in the pouch. So we are not looking for that we are going to take the quality of food away from you except for sugar and, you know, that probably should be out of it. What we are looking for is quantity, small, and listen to the brain and when you are full, stop.
