Dr. Shyam Dahiya describes Body Mass Index (BMI), a measure of body fat based on height and weight.
Dr. Dahiya:
The simplest way to explain is that, how many kilograms are you carrying for a given height, and it’s measured in meters. But if you were to be exact, if we were to square your height in meters and take the weight in kilograms and divide with, the weight divided by the height, it gives you a number, and again, as I go back to it that in simplest term, per unit of your height, how much weight are you carrying, and that’s the Body Mass Index.
