I awoke one morning and when I got out of bed, it hurt like crazy to stand on my feet. The pain continued very persistently for 3+ weeks... extremely tender in the morning, gradually getting better during the day, and increasing again in evenings. It felt like my foot had collapsed in the middle where the arch is, except I still had an arch there. On the inside of my feet there was slight swelling and slight discoloration . It has now been close to 5 weeks and the pain is getting to be less and less, but not gone completely yet. Accompanying this I also experienced pain and problems in my knees, and in a very unsystematic way, also had problems bending my knees. This would shift though....one day it was one leg and the next the the other leg, then it would subside and it would return..... It was so severe at one point, that just 2 weeks ago, I could barely go up and down stairs. The knee situation seems to have improved now and have not experienced that in the past 6 days now. Any ideas?

For the past few weeks, I have been experiencing similar pain as that of Laura, but my pain runs from the heel to ball on the outer side of both feet. I cannot afford to see a podiatrist and would like some hints on what I can do. It is very tiresome having my feet in pain every time I stand up. The pain, however, reduces considerably after a short time.

i get intense pain under my foot, always from standing for long periods, if you call 5 hours long. The puzzling thing is it only happens in this situation, it won't happen if i have been on a run or anything. My trainers arn't specially fitted but do have a correct curve shape and i doubt it is due to their age. My BMI is above average but i'd be suprised if it was this as i am active. I just have to bite my lip and bear through. I would feel a fool going to the doctor over something seeming so trivial, but is there is a possability of further complications then i may just.

To the last two anons - You need to be seen by a doctor, either your primary care physician or a podiatrist, which is a doctor who specializes in foot care. It's not possible to properly diagnose the cause of your pain through the Internet, and you need to work with a professional. Good luck to both of you, let us know what you learn.

I to have been having foot soreness, but mine is on the outside of my foot, in the middle on a bone that pertrudes a little bit. It started in one foot and then a couple days later it's in the other foot same general area. It's very sore when I walk and is just very irritating and seems to be getting worse everyday. Anyone have any suggestions?

My doctor did two things, first he put me on a 4 day rotating diet. Every fourth day I am back to the start of the diet and I start the cycle again. On this diet I can have everything but just on certain days and there are allot of things on this diet that I had never heard of. He also put me on an antibiotic for 20 days. I am not sure which one did it but my feet are pretty much back to normal.
