What Advice Do You Have For Women Who Fear Hypnosis? - Crystal Dwyer (VIDEO)

Crystal Dwyer:

A lot of women do have a fear of hypnosis. I think that’s largely because most people think of hypnosis as stage hypnosis where a few audience participants stand up and then, you know, the hypnotist has them clucking like chickens or doing crazy things and really, that is stage hypnosis. The people, the participants who are doing that are screened ahead of time, and if they are not they are just people who are very suggestible or very willing to do whatever they are doing.

So, for someone to do something like that, a hypnotist can’t have control over you. The participant has to be willing; there has to be a part of them that says, “Whoa, I won’t mind jumping on stage and taking my shirt off.” Whatever they do, there has to be a willingness inside.

A hypnotherapist has no power over you. In fact, if there was anything that was morally or ethically wrong, you would instantly, even though your mind is in a relaxed state, it’s not a sleep. You are not asleep and in fact, the ideal state of hypnosis where we get the most work done is you are very aware.

When my clients come out of a hypnotic session they say, “Gosh, you know, you were taking me all these places,” but they get additional downloads of information that are really just coming from inside of them, things are revealed to them, things are sort of, it’s an opening up of their own mind, but there is a keen amount of awareness of what’s going on.

If someone slips too far into a sleep state, I will wake them up because that’s not the state they want to be in. It’s important to check out your hypnotherapist and I can talk about that later, but I would definitely check with the American Board of Hypnotherapy, get a certified hypnotherapist, and then you should be in pretty good hands.
