My cellulite is disappearing!
I posted a few weeks ago about how I'm trying the "Ultimate Leg, Butt, Hip and Thigh Makeover" video exercise program that claims to get rid of cellulite, and I have to say that it's actually working. I can't believe it either, because I just figured that the combination of genetics, having had three pregnancies, and a day job of sitting at a desk all day meant that I was doomed to having cellulite on my backside. Now, after 5 weeks of faithfully doing the 1-hour exercise program three times a week, I'm actually seeing the bumpy, dimply cellulite on my butt disappear. I couldn't be more surprised!
This program was developed by Joey Atlas who is now a contributing writer on EmpowHer. His DVD set costs $29, and I believe they're well worth your money. Especially if you're already pouring money into the so-called cellulite busting creams, lotions and clothing that really don't work at all.

Yeah, I really, really see a difference. That's why I just had to post about it, even though it feels like an embarrassing thing to talk about openly. I mean, who wants to admit they have a dimply butt?? What I've found frustrating is that no matter how many miles I ran or cycled or swam, I never could get rid of the cellulite on my hips/butt. (It really started appearing after I had kids.) You can be really skinny and still have cellulite in certain areas. And honestly I have no idea if it's just genetic or not. My mom probably wouldn't appreciate me discussing her cellulite, but let me just put it this way.... I don't personally know of a woman who doesn't have cellulite somewhere on her body. I have a close friend who has had liposuction done on her hips and thighs and although she looks thinner, she still has cellulite.
The thing that I've learned from Joey Atlas is that if you target and work the muscles under the skin that is "dimply," that area will smooth out as your muscles become firmer/stronger. I guess that's what I'm seeing, because in the mirror I definitely see a difference and I'm only on week 6 of doing his exercises three times a week. And another really cool thing is that I feel stronger, even when I'm just walking around at work. That's a good feeling.
Sorry, I didn't mean to get so personal by asking about your Mom. I think it would be interesting to study cellulite to better understand why this happens to women. I don't see men walking around with cellulite.... Do you??? I also do know of women who don't have one ounce of cellulite on their bodies. I see them and I am in awe and disbelief all at the same time. I'm going to buy Joey's CD and get to work. I'll keep you posted on my progress. I wonder if a lymphatic massage would help in conjuction with Joey's program? Hmmm..I may do both and let you know the outcome.
Thanks for sharing!! I love EmpowHer!!
Oh, yes, I see plenty of men walking around with cellulite....they're definitely not immune.
I wonder if anyone's done studies on cellulite like you're referring to. That may be something we should research.
I have no idea about lymphatic massages (is that the same as a deep tissue massage?), but if you do try it, please let me know what it's like. And I'd really like to hear how Joey's exercises work for you. Please keep in touch. If you sign up on EmpowHer as a member, then you can send me (or any other member here) private messages.
So glad you love EmpowHer! I love it too!!!
You are my hero! I have a few friends, of course not me, that try try try and have no luck in getting rid of the upper leg cellulite. I will pass along this information and hope that it will work! I too think I am starting to "look like my Mother" and this lovely hand me down is one of the characteristics that I do not like! Yikes.
I am so glad that I found Empowher, what a great site!
OMG! A friend of mine goes to a women in Phoenix that specializes in Cellulite massage. She swears by it ! The business is called Connie & Pams,Inc. at 709 E. Claremont, Suite C. Phone number is 602-265-7458. Try it! From what I understand it is a "deep" tissue and very aggressive massage in the affected areas for cellulite removal. They have been in business for over 20 years. Let me know how it works.
